Cookie Policy

1. The short version
This website sets no cookies at all. It uses no analytics, no advertising technology, no tracking pixels, no social media widgets and no embedded third-party content. Every font, script, style and image is served from this site's own domain, so opening a page here does not cause a request to any other company's servers.
That is a deliberate design decision rather than an omission. It is described in full in the Privacy Policy.
2. What is stored on your device
One item, and only if you interact with the notice at the bottom of the page. It is stored in your browser's local storage rather than as a cookie, which means it is never transmitted to our server with your requests.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
ah-consent | Local storage | Records whether you accepted or rejected non-essential storage, so the notice is not shown to you again | Until you clear your browser storage |
Under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive, storage that is strictly necessary to provide a service the user has explicitly requested does not require consent. Remembering that you declined falls into that category — asking for permission to remember a refusal would defeat the refusal.
3. Why there is a notice at all
Because it is honest to tell you what is happening, and because the mechanism needs to exist before it is needed. If measurement is ever added to this site, it will be placed behind the same gate, and it will not run unless you press Accept. Rejecting is a real refusal, not a reduced form of consent, and the two buttons are deliberately given equal size and prominence.
4. Changing your mind
Your choice is not permanent. Reopen the cookie notice to make it again, or clear this site's data in your browser settings.
5. Server logs are not cookies
Delivering a web page necessarily involves your browser connecting to a server, and that server keeping short-lived technical records of the connection. That is not storage on your device and is not covered by this policy; it is described under "Server logs" in the Privacy Policy.
